Inventor: Reconfigure

Rules Discussion

So reconfigure lets you replace a modification feat with another modification feat.. but at each level there is modification feats there is only one per innovation. Is this just future proof language for futures when they have more feats or is there some ability to use it?

it only has to meet the normal retraining limits (meaning that you could pick it up at the level you got the previous feat)

so you can swap out a higher level feat for a lower level if needed for something, and then next day swap it back to your previous choice, and etc.

as an example, let's say you've picked up Manifold modifications as an armor inventor, and you find out that you need to go underwater in the following days. You swap out manifold for diving armor, do the underwater bit, and then switch back to manifold.

The main purpose imo is still to change the modifications of your innovations rather than changing the modification feats though.

It also will be future proof compatible with any new Modification feats that get created. It is mildly unfortunate that there aren't currently more options.

For things that are somewhat similar, see Flexible Transmogrification, Metamagical Experimentation Thesis, and Combat Flexibility.
