Is there a way to get other tradition spells to use with your Wizard slots?

Rules Discussion

Just like the Sorcerer can do. Dedication is not the answer I am looking for, because you could use that tradition spells only on your single dedication spell slot of each level, not with your Wizard ones.

adaptive adept can allow you to get a 1st level spell from outside your tradition.

Spell poaching - as it is commonly called - is generally fairly limited. Some classes do it better than others.

Some only get a specific set of spells that they can grab. The most obvious one of this is Witch. With a Lesson feat, you can grab one spell. But there are no requirements. Any Witch can pick up Mage Armor with a feat. But an Arcane tradition Witch isn't going to be able to pick up Grim Tendrils because it isn't on any of the Lesson feats.

Cleric and Oracle can both get spells from the Deity list. Again, they can only get spells that are actually on a Deity list. So Grim Tendrils is available, but only to some of the Clerics or Oracles - the ones that have a deity or mystery that has that spell. Invisible Item isn't available to any of them.

The ability to grab any spell of your choice from a different tradition is a very non-standard ability. The only classes I am aware of that can do that are Sorcerer at level 8 with Crossblooded Evolution, and Bard at level 18 with Impossible Polymath.

As far as I know, Wizard doesn't get any spell poaching ability. The Adaptive Adept feat mentioned above isn't a class feat, it is a Human ancestry feat.

Grim Tendrils is on the Arcane and Occult list, you should fix your example.

I see then. Thanks.

The Halcyon Speaker dedication allows you to use your class (say Wizard) slots to cast halcyon spells.

Seems to be and works for everyone.

After taking a look to Halcyon Speaker, I don’t like attaching it to a region and those type of conditions, more if you don’t play at that set. It is uncommon, as it is clearly better than other options, as it grants the extra spell slot, but integrated with your class ones, and allows to get spells from 2 list.

With all the previous, I am going to change those type of requirements to make them more generic and accessible to characters, and in the case of Halcyon Speaker I’d change to having 14 at three Int, Wis and Cha, as it could be considered a superior caster archetype getting from multiple sources.

Uncommon or Rare does not mean more powerful.

In Golarion, you need to be a student / teacher at the school where it was created in setting, but really anyone can fit.

Now, in your game, you do as you wish, as in all things.

You know, I prefer to use a mechanic of want something then pay for it. General and deterministic not based on the player convincing the GM to add it to its character sheet and then allow to get it.
I am not a fan at all of those requirements based on GM mind. Just put a cost then let players create their characters according to it.
So if you are a Wizard and want Oracle spells need to have Charisma 14, but for getting Halcyon that are Arcane and Primal you only need to write that you were a student at somewhere…not sound good to me.

Your game, your style, your rules.

PF2 certainly put back a lot of power in the GM's hands. The Rarity system is a good example of this.
