Versatile Blasts Kineticist 1 Feat - fire can do cold damage?

The Versatile Blasts feat says: "Accessing a wider realm of elemental manifestations, you can make blasts with rare forms of your elements. Add the following damage types to those you can choose for Elemental Blasts of that element: air cold, earth poison, fire cold, metal electricity, water acid, wood poison."

Is the fire entry correct, with this feat it can do cold damage instead?

I've heard it's correct... and given that the expression "coldfire" exist, it would make sense :)

If you give fire, you can take fire.

What else would you add to the fire element? There isn't really anything else appropriate. At least, having a "fire" blast inflicting cold damage can be explained as the impulse working in reverse: you have such control over the element of fire that you can violently suck it out of your targets, leaving them frozen in place.

Note that versatile blasts applies specifically to elemental blasts not impulses. So a fire kineticist with versatile blasts can do cold damage with elemental blasts, but they can't use scorching column or blazing wave to do cold damage- those are still "extreme heat" and "flames" respectively.
