Sparkling Targe magi aren't really meant to shield Bash, are they?

You can shield bash if you want to. Who's gonna stop you?

This topic makes me wonder if the bonus to hardness from Sparkling Targe and Everstand Stance stacks. I would assume yes? Funny build for if you just really love shield block.

I'm just not seeing anything that Sparkling Targe magi GET that benefits shield bashing. All it seems to benefit is using your shield defensively, so a Sparkling Targe Magus will want something like a regular Steel Shield rather than a shield meant to be used for offense like a Klar or a Razor Disc, right?

Anyone can shield bash, you don't need anything special to do it, even if you're not trained in martial weapons. It also doesn't lower your shield when you do it.

You can use special shields if you want, but a Sturdy Shield is probably best due to increased hardness and HP. You can easily attach a Shield Boss or Spikes to it to do more damage and add runes.

Everstand Stance is good if you want to only use a shield. The hardness increase does stack (since it's untyped), and the d8 damage is very helpful.

Point of order that the boss/spikes/klar/etc are all martial weapons so you do need martial training to add your proficiency to the attacks.

It is true that the Magus doesn't get much for shield bashing specifically; TWF is usually the reason to do it which Magus generally cannot do. Multiclassing into Everstand Strike is probably your best choice if you really want to crack skulls with a shield boss.

Well there goes THAT character idea, then. <_<

Just remember that both everstand stance and arcane cascade are both stances, so you'll have to choose which one to use.

Magus has about as much incentive to shield bash as any other class, which is that it provides easy access to alternative damage types. Especially if you use doubling rings and put your main runes on the shield boss/spikes.

Double Slice, Agile Grip, and Ever stand Stance are all things which can help your damage, but even with those you are still going to fall behind non-shield users because you get to use it as, well, a shield.

Not sure exactly what the concept you were going for was. A character who primarily attacks with their shield even though they carry a sword?

A magus who uses an earthbreaker in one hand for bludgeoning and piercing damage and a razor disc for slashing damage and as a ranged backup.

Oh if that's all you want then that works just fine, just get the Blazons of Shared Power and you're golden. The earthbreaker actually does have a small synergy with this playstyle, if you find yourself in a situation where you need to break your razor disc with a shield block you can shift your grip on the earthbreaker and increase your damage while keeping the sparkling targe benefits with the shield cantrip.
