Hello, is it possible for a party of a 4 grindylow to ambush a group of PC on the beach near the sea ?
Is it plausible ?
For example, two grindylow are hidden in the sand near a rock using Survival to cover tracks and 2 others in the water near the sand.

Yes it's completely possible. While they are hidden the players need to use some Search/Seek (depending if you are in Exploration or Encounter mode) to do Perception checks against their Stealth DC (usually DC 17) and pass. Otherwise they will completely surprised by them when they attack.

It is definitely possible and plausible for them to attempt it.
Success will depend on their level, the PCs level, and how the various survival, stealth, and perception rolls fall out.
