Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

Hi I'm knew to the pathfinder universe just ordered the beginner box and it comes with maps. I also bought the Abomintaion Vaults adventure path and as I've seen it has maps in the book but by the size of it's pages, my question is do you have to draw the maps in the book to play because I can't find any map folio for this adventure path. Also for other future adventure paths do the maps inside need to be drawn in order to play, I can't figure it out please help.

Radiant Oath

If you are playing in person, you will have to draw most of the maps.

Paizo typically does not do flip mats for their adventure paths, no. They do do flip mats for their stand-alone Adventures, but it's also usually not every map int he adventure either.

One thing I have found very useful is the "Basic" series of Paizo maps.

There are Regular size Flip Mats 24 x 30
Or Basic Terrain MultiPacks

There are Bigger Basic Flip Mats 27 x 39

And there is an Enormous Basic Flip Mat 30 x 46

Once you draw the map out, you can fold it back up to the standard 8 x 10 storage size and not have to redraw everything for each session.

I also use the Map Tiles and the Map Packs when I'm in a hurry, and just want to throw together something that is "close enough" for the section we're working through.

I really like drawing the maps full size on paper, using some dry erase markers or sharpies to have thick lines but a bit of variety of color. I bought these a few years back: on Amazon.

They've been really useful, they're 27 inch by 34 inch one square gridded paper, big pads of fifty sheets. Amazingly good for dungeons, and you can tile them together for huge maps. Just roll them up to store them in a poster tube for the whole campaign.

At one point I drew all of Osirion on them in an enormous tiled set of maps for a hexcrawl style expansion to Mummy's Mask. Don't think we used even a tenth of them, but was a hell of a lot of fun.
