Psychic amp feats

Rules Discussion

When a psychic amp feat says that you replace the amped version, does it mean that what remains of the spell you cast is "blank" => "amp feat" ?

Or you also get the basic benefits?

For example,

Guidance gives +1 status bonus on the next skill
Guidance Amped can be used as reaction, after you see the roll.

What about Guidance amped with Inertial barrier?

Does it just give DR for 1 round ( forgetting the +1 from base guidance ) or it's in addition to non amped guidance?

There you have it:

Guidance
Cast ◈ verbal, 1 Focus point
Range 30 120 feet; Targets 1 creature
Duration until the start of your next turn
You ask for divine guidance, granting the target a +1 status bonus to one attack roll, Perception check, saving throw, or skill check the target attempts before the duration ends. The target chooses which roll to use the bonus on before rolling. If the target uses the bonus, the spell ends. Either way, the target is then temporarily immune for 1 hour.
You have eyes everywhere, allowing you to guide people from a great distance. The range of guidance increases to 120 feet. It also gains the following amp.
(Amp) You or one target of the spell gains resistance to physical damage equal to 2 + the spell's level until the start of your next turn.

Just combine together all parts that should be included.

An amp is a special thoughtform that modifies the properties of your psi cantrips. Psi cantrips each have their own amp, and feats with the amp trait provide different amps you can apply to psi cantrips in place of their normal amps.

It's pretty clear to me that you don't apply any normal AMP effect when you use an AMP feats instead.

For this Guidance example, you cannot use it as reaction at all with Inertial barrier once that it's reaction option come from it's normal AMPed effect and these effects are substituted by Inertial barrier.

Yeah I mean, I forgo the Guidance Amp, and that's ok.

I expend 1 action to cast guidance, and that's ok.

I use a different amp, and that's ok.

What's the outcome?

The target gets the benefits from the base guidance spell and the amp effect?
Or just the amp effect ( goodbye guidance )?

You only replace the amp effects. The spell's normal effects remain as they are

Excellent! Thank you all!
