How do I subscribe to threads?

I post rules questions on this site frequently, but I have to keep the tabs open or find the threads again to see if there have been responses. Is there a way to subscribe to threads or otherwise get email notifications of the responses on the threads?

You can use the rss-feed button in the top right corner, just under the header to subscribe to a thread, a subforum, a forum, or all the forums on the site.

Depending on which page you subscribe to, you'll get notified of new posts.

For example, to subscribe to all new posts in all the forums, go here and click the orange RSS-feed button

Paizo Community Forums. Use the breadcrumb at the top left of the page, just under the header, to backtrack to whatever level you prefer.

You can also quickly go back to all your previous posts by going to "My Profile" under the "My Account" menu. One of the tabs on your profile page is "Posts". Be sure to check the "Threads" tab if you have started a new thread, and not just replied to someone.

The orange button in the top right corner only shows me the xml code for the webpage. It doesn't seem to be subscribing me to anything.

It's not an email subscription, it's an rss subscription.

Which RSS reader do you use? If you're not already using one, I've found that Feedly does an excellent job, even at the free tier. I use it for over 100 subscriptions to create my own daily newspaper.

And you can find apps that send RSS feeds to your email.

I finally got the RSS reader Ark View on the Microsoft Store, but it isn't working (specifically for Paizo feeds; other feeds work fine). This is the link that I'm trying to copy into the Link field.

I got this link by right-clicking the orange button on this thread and selecting "Copy link address". Is there a step I'm missing?

For what it's worth, I've not found this necessary.

If you go to the forum main page, all the threads you've posted in will have a blue dot next to their name.

Sometimes you will see posters post something like "Dot" in a thread, it allows you to easily follow a thread. As mentioned, if you post you can also find your posts under your profile to find threads that way.

This is too useful for me to not have set up. Also, how do you guys add character pictures to your profile? I haven't seen an option to do that either.

When logged in go to my account on top right then account settings.

On the left you should see a messageboard settings which will let you change your avatar

Yeah, for some strange reason that is put under 'Account Settings' rather than being part of 'My Profile'.

Thanks. The reader is working now for some reason.

Copying and pasting links on the Paizo site often has this weird glitch where a space character is inserted midway through the link.

(That appears to have been what happened in the post of yours six above this one - the word “threads” is chopped in two). When I’m struggling to copy addresses from here, that’s often the way to resolve it.
