Spell Idea

I've never created a spell before, only tweaked a couple details. But, I was thinking about something involving the Void Domain

Void Domain:
You can call upon the cold darkness between the stars to gain flight, travel to other worlds, or summon monsters from beyond to do your bidding

So I was thinking of a splash attack spell

Echo of the Void (Evil, Void) Level 4?
Close range 25' + 5'/2 Lvl
Components: V

Conjure a small sphere of dark nothingness and toss at opponents

20' burst/splash d4 + wisdom modifier/caster level of void energy dmg
SR Will Save (since its just energy)

I literally just whipped this up and I have no idea of balance. Does this have merit?

Any and all input is welcome. Ideally, I'd like to use it in a game this Saturday March 4th, but I won't hold my breath, lol.

Ok from there we need to pick what class its for. Given that you are referencing the void domain I assume cleric which generally has worse blast spells than arcane classes.

Based on your description the closest spell would be Flame Strike. Shorter range but no S component. Pathfinder doesn't add ability scores to spell damage so discarding that. I would say as a 5th level spell its fair dealing either 1d4 untyped/void damage OR 1d6 damage split evenly between cold and untyped/void damage. Your target area is a bit better than Flame Strike but not gamebreakingly so if you are restricting it to those with the domain. Either Evocation or Conjuration for spell school.

Save: Ref(half) SR: Yes
Deal 1d4/cl void damage to all creatures in the area. Creatures that make a successful reflex save take half damage.
