Feats \ Abilities \ Archetype that help detecting deceit

Advice

I want my character (a bard) to be good at spotting deceitful stuff, whether it be lying, disguises, illusions etc.
Anything that tries to fool you.
I can't just boost perception, any good options out there?

Lie to Me lets you use deception to detect lies, but it won't help against illusions.

Gnome Illusion Sense gives a bonus to detecting illusions and an automatic check for it.

Canny Acumen doesn't help. A Bard already has higher Perception than the feat gives.

I think there are some other ancestry feats that will upgrade will save results. Most will turn success into critical success though, so I am not sure how helpful those would be for illusions.

But in general, increase your Wisdom ability and realize that you already are at the top end of the curve for Perception and Will saves. So it is unlikely that anyone else is going to be better at lie and illusion detection than your Bard. The game doesn't give auto-success options.

Bards starts Expert in Perception and this helps them to notice these things.

As suggested by Arachnofiend Lie to Me that allows you to use Deception to detect lies. The advantage of this use is because you Key Stat is Cha what probably is bigger than your Wis but the thing really improve when you become Master in Deception from level 7 instead lvl 11 of Bard's Perception and becomes Legendary beginning from lvl 15 while you are unable to become Legendary in perception as a Bard.

As speelcaster you also have the good old True Seeing but due how Counteracting works I recommend that you keep this spell as your max spellslot lvl or it becomes useless overtime.
Also See Invisibility is always useful and it's 5º level is one of rare spells with long duration. It's very useful to not been taken surprised by something invisible once the invisibility is the most common illusion used.
Detect Magic is also useful to detect illusion spells once beginning from 3rd level and able to pin-point from 4º level it's able to detect the magic school so if no stronger spell are active you probably is able to detect the presence of illusion spells even invisibility.
Discern Lies may help you to detect lies giving +4 status bonus in your Perception checks but don't stack with Lie to Me
Mind Probe allows to seek information in someone mind. The target still can try to hide the information or fake it but it's hard to it to lie (it need to successful crit Deception check vs your spell DC) and you can retry while you sustain your spell probably granting you the correct answer.

Gnome chars also can take Illusion Sense to give them +1 circumstance bonus to Perception vs Illusions.

Some itens like Candle of Revealing show invisible creatures.
Is more used for long range but in higher versions can be used as detector too a Crystal Ball is a good tool to see invisible and or even use true seeing.
Robe of Eyes is a fantastic item that gives +3 item bonus to Perception (that can sum with circumstance and status bonus from other sources) gives you the ability to constantly see invisibility.
Third Eye give you an enhanced version of Detect Magic that's continuous and allow you to sense all auras in the area not only the greatest.
Moderated and greater versions of Thurible of Revelation gives See Invisibility and a high level of True Seeing respectively.
Truesight Potion is a cheap way to have access to True Seeing but don't progress.

For multiclass solutions you can take Glimpse the Truth of truth domain spell. It's one of the best Illusion detector spell because due it's be a focus spell it's automatically progress, also since 7th spell level (when you reach lvl 13th) this is shared to anyone you want to see through the illusion too. Due it's be a domain focus spell can be taken by any MC that have access to domains spells like Clerics, Champions and Oracles.

only if the level of the spell is lower than the detect magic.

equal or higher level illusion magic isn't perceivable by detect magic.

just keep that in mind.
