Gadget Specialist from the Inventor Archetype - level restrictions?

Rules Discussion

So in the Gadget Specialist (https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=3058) inventor feat, it says you get the formulas for (X) common or uncommon gadgets and can make (Y) of them with your daily preparations. Both numbers go up as your Crafting skill level go up. I can't see anything about level restrictions, however.

I don't know what that means for the base class, but I'm even more confused when it comes to the archetype. At first, I figured it must be something like the Alchemical Crafting from the Alchemist archetype (https://2e.aonprd.com/Archetypes.aspx?ID=1), with it starting at level 1, and then increasing with feats... but there are no 'Invention Level' feat to pick that would increase it at all.

I haven't been able to google an answer either - what level gadgets can you pick, and what level gadgets can you make daily? Does anyone know? Was there an errata that hasn't made it into Nethys?

No errata on this yet. Most would probabaly rule that it's limited to gadgets of your level or lower.

Same would be true if you pick the feat via the inventor archetype since there is nothing like an advanced alchemy level for gadgets.

More information is listed under the Crafting skills on the archives of nethys

aslo useful might be this information on learning formulas

You can make an item from raw materials. You need the Alchemical Crafting skill feat to create alchemical items, the Magical Crafting skill feat to create magic items, and the Snare Crafting feat to create snares.

To Craft an item, you must meet the following requirements:

The item is your level or lower...
You have the formula for the item...
You have an appropriate set of tools...

I have omitted some details from the copy for brevity. You can technically learn formulas of any level, but cannot create an item above your own level.

Item Level
Source Core Rulebook pg. 271
Each item has an item level, which represents the item’s complexity and any magic used in its construction. Simpler items with a lower level are easier to construct, and you can’t Craft items that have a higher level than your own (page 243). If an item’s level isn’t listed, its level is 0. While characters can use items of any level, GMs should keep in mind that allowing characters access to items far above their current level may have a negative impact on the game.

Thank you :)
