dhampir in malevolence

Advice

so probably starting this in the next few weeks. would a dhampir get healed by creatures or things that deal negative damage? can ghouls or whatever choose nit to deal negative damage?

You are not healed by negative damage, you are healed by negative healing. So Undeads will not heal you when trying to damage you. Still, they will not injure you either as you are immune to negative damage. So it can affect the adventure a lot if there are lots of undeads in it. As such, I encourage you to see with your GM, especially if they haven't thought about all the implications of playing a character with Negative Healing.

Damage doesn't heal. Positive damage doesn't heal the living either. (See Barbarian Spirit Instinct. You can't heal your allies by hitting them with a blowgun or other low damage weapon.)

If some attack or effect is dealing negative damage, that usually can't be changed. However, not all undead deal only negative damage. The Ghoul only does negative damage as part of Ghoul Fever. The negative damage wouldn't cause HP loss to a character with negative healing, but the rest of the effects would still happen - the penalties to healing effects and the death effect at stage 6.

And the rest of the Ghouls attacks would all work just fine. Slashing damage will still injure a Dhampir.

My reaction to finding this out after GM'ing Abomination Vaults with a Dhampir player-character
