I understand that the Three peaked tree is basically a Mithral tree (gun)/ trident.. but.. My personal opinion the melee portion of the combined weapon as it is an Elf weapon should be finesse much like the Elven branched spear and Elven Curved Blade which is basically a larger scimitar but with the finesse trait. I feel that the weapon as it stands is compromised.
It would have made far more sense for the combination to be an elven branch spear / Mithral tree or to have the finesse trait like other Elven weapons
Thoughts?

All the combination weapons are martial tier but compromised in some way for balance, be that damage or traits. Strangely enough, the three peaked tree's melee portion is not compromised. It is simply a trident by the text and thus can be wielded in one hand if one desires. Making it finesse would put it in advanced territory.

Don't agree. It's listed as a two-handed weapon and there's nothing about being able to change the number of hands when switching modes.

The ranged portion is listed as a 2 handed weapon. I find it odd that the melee portions aren't listed so I guess you would default to the ranged but three peaked tree does flat out say it can be wielded as a "trident" specifically. While every other combo weapon is its own thing.
