Why does trollblood elixir cost more to craft than it does to buy

Trollblood elixir costs 4550 gp yet its crafting requirements call for 5060 gp.
At First i thought i was a mistake on the SRD but it matches the item price from the giant hunters handbook

Clearly one of the two prices is wrong. Craft price (for PF1) is generally half the price of buying something outright.

Yeah that's why I'm surprised. But the source book and srd agree on it which is why I'm surprised.

My theory is that 4550 is correct and that the craft price should be 2275. The reason being that it requires regenerate a seventh level spell. So following the rules from brew potions would be 13*7*50=4550.

I know the rules for brew potions aren't relevant, but intuitively it makes sense for an elixir especially when the price matches

I mean, elixir's are really just potions that break the normal rules for potions.

New math.

wym?

Trollblood elixir Giant Hunter's Handbook. The item lists both prices. Apparently it doesn't sell (for some nauseating reason).
Creativity aside, Price 4550 & Cost 2275 would be correct if it was a standard item (for Potions 3rd level spell is the maximum). There should be a price addition for the high spell level (it is +1 spell level for 4th SplLvl) and a discount for the imposed condition. This may well be what the author was trying to indicate but assuming a cost of 5060 (as listed) then price would be 10120 and a 55% discount for the nauseated condition. Sadly 13*8*50=5200 & 13*9*50=5850... regenerate:C7

I'd suggest this cracked item instead.

Trollblood elixir Giant Hunter's Handbook....

No mention in the Product Discussion or Reviews on the Product page.

After reading the original source material I suspect the cost number is a cut and paste error from the Shrivelblade on the same page in the previous column which has an identical number.
My guess would be Price 5850 (as above) with approx 22% discount for Price 4550 & Cost 2925.

Why 2925 instead of 2275?

Also i do realize that brew potions does not allow spell levels that high but the price matching doesn't feel like a coincidence
