Hey, all. Got a bit of a fringe case I'd appreciate some guidance with.
So one of my players has an Android Artisan PC. If you're not familiar with the Artisan, it's a 3rd-party class provided in the Guide to Inns & Taverns from Slugfest Games. The Artisan is kind of flavored as an adventuring NPC, but as a player class.
Obviously, this race/class combo has an issue in that it does not, officially, have a third option provided for Favored Class bonus. So, I'd like to try to build a custom option to present to this player.
The Artisan receives the following ability at Level 1:
Common Man (Ex): As common people, artisans have an easier time interacting with and asking favors of NPCs. An artisan receives a circumstance bonus equal to half their artisan level (rounded up) on any Diplomacy checks they make to improve the mood of a character with at least one level in an NPC class.
I'm kind of thinking the provided Favored Class bonus might be a fractional bonus to this ability, but I'm not sure whether to set it at 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4.
Thematically, I know this doesn't necessarily make the most sense considering the Android's penalty to Charisma, but I'm looking for something quick and easy to implement. Also, the other 1st Level class features don't easily lend themselves to this sort of bonus.
Any thoughts?

Personally, I'd probably put it at 1/2 level and cap it to +5 bonus. It doesn't really need a +10 and is not valuable enough to be worth taking that far anyway, so there is nothing wrong with capping it to encourage taking the extra skill rank (or less fitting to a class called "Artisan" the hitpoint).
