Avid Collector Guns Weapons

Am I missing something with the avid collector boon and it's access to firearms?

It would appear that you can take Avid Collector - Air Repeater and you would gain access to the item and ammunition. Also with it being a simple weapon any class trained in simple weapons would be able to use it without difficulty.

Is this correct?

Yes

You also can gain access by the character's Home Region containing one of the following: Alkenstar, Dongun Hold, Tian Xia, Vudra, Arcadia, Ustalav, the Shackles.

I know this thread's a few years old, but came up with a similar question and I'll try to resurrect it ... Am I correct in reading the updated Character Options that now EVERYONE in PFS has access to the uncommon firearms, with no need to spend AcP on the Avid Collector boons?
