There are some online PFS tables at Cayden’s Keg which are limited to 5 players. Is that legal?

Yes

Thanks! I was looking in the guide, but I think I’m just overlooking it. Appreciate the help!

GMs/VOs are free to set whatever table size limit makes sense for their venues/comfort/etc within the limits the program itself sets. As long as its being applied fairly & consistently (Ie not dropping a 6 player to a 5 player table to exclude a particular person). I know a lot of lodges/GMs that cap online games at 5 in order to make sure a scenario fits into a 4 hour slot.

That makes sense, really.

It is likely the cap is related to Roll20. If a GM does not subscribe their tables are limited to 5 players.

Is that a new thing? I don’t remember ever running into it. Though admittedly, I’ve been a subscriber for years, and most of the GMs whose tables I’ve been at are as well.

Another advantage of 5P tables for PFS2 is that it's far less likely that a group of mostly low level characters tips into high tier due to one high level character.

What? I definitely ran tables of more than 5 players on Roll20 on a free account. And I do know for sure that some (nor necessarily all) people just limit their tables to 5 so that it won't be too crowded and hectic for their taste.

Are you possibly thinking of the limit on the number of players that you can share Compendium access with?

Not to be argumentative, but this is not accurate. Free accounts are not limited to five players.

No argument. I don't know where I picked that as a limit but if I am wrong, I am wrong.

No big deal to me.

Thanks for setting me straight.
