Gronkh Maha
|
Gronkh rides Horace forward, past the fallen Red's horse, (possibly provoking an AoO from Red horse if it is so inclined) and pokes at Blue with his lance.
lance: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Jale wanders over to the other end of the parapet and waits for the newcomers, praying softly under his breath. ”Chaos... They are coming from all around us... chaos... help me see through the chaos.”
| GM Rinaldo |
Juno fires another arrow, but that darn wind is still her greatest enemy.
Jale moves away to watch the approaching rider as Gronkh moves around to engage the last rider from the previous group. His attack doesn't quite penetrate the rider's armor.
Brakkik and Sadaf are still up!
| Danduun |
Sadaf orders Danduun to get the other rider too and Danduun walks forward and attacks the blue Tengu rider.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Bite damage : 1d6 ⇒ 3
| GM Rinaldo |
Danduun moves up to attack, but can't quite get through the rider's armor.
Blue vs Gronkh: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
The rider moves up to attack Gronkh, and as he does, the villagers who had helped Gronkh before run back up to interfere with him! Though the rider's attack was mis-timed, the villager who was injured before appears to have made his own wound worse; his companion once again carries him back to the wall.
Green vs Jale: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 4 = 16
The new rider advances toward the wall, firing an arrow as he goes; the arrow is on target, but the arrow just bounces off the edge of the building. Would have hit if not for the partial cover from the wall.

| Danduun |
Again, Danduun attacks the blue Tengu rider.

Bite damage : 1d6 ⇒ 4
Talon 1 : 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Juno Berik

Juno fires her cursed bow at the green tengu!
Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 - 2 = 12
Piercing Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Gronkh Maha
|
Will wait to post until seeing whether Danduun's attacks on Blue take him down. If he is still standing Gronkh will attempt to take him down. If he has gone down, Gronkh will ride over to where Sadaf is perched and ask him to use his wand of CLW on him (if that's possible - I'm not quite sure how high up he is)
Sadaf Kargar
|
If you come to Sadaf assume he uses the clw wand. He is only delaying currently.
Johnny Brom
|
Juno shrieks as the arrow thuds against the wall. He turns to Jale with a shocked expression. "Nearly a hundred feet away! They've got sharpshooters!" He then takes in a deep breath and yells over the wall. "HEY! BIRDMAN! YOU RIDE LIKE AN EARTH ELEMENTAL!" Jumping up and down and waving his hands, he whispers over to Jale. Quick! Hit him while he's distracted!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
| GM Rinaldo |
Danduun scratches at the rider in front of him, and this time manages to get under the armor. With a long talon slice and a bite from razor sharp teeth, he wounds the tengu enough that it passes out. Blue Rider unconscious.
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Gronkh rides over to the wall where Sadaf uses a wand to heal his wounds. Gronkh is good as new!
Brakkik continues to hide on his side of the wall, while Juno fires an arrow and Jale yells to the rider on his side. Sadly, Intimidate only has an effect within 30 feet. :-(
The rider kicks his horse, and charges at the wall.
Acrobatics to leap vs DC 20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
With a graceful leap, the horse goes up and over the barricade!
If Jale has a melee weapon, he can take an AoO.

----------
Everyone is up!
| Danduun |
Sadaf orders Danduun to return to him.
”Come back! You have to protect me in case somebody attacks!“
Danduun double moves.
Brakkik
|
Grinning, Brakkik moves along the rooftop to a clearer line of sight and gulps down his other extract.
Move and drink extract of true strike.
Juno Berik
|
Seeing an enemy nearby Juno groans. "FINALLY!" She hops down off the barricade, dropping her bow and drawing her axe as she goes. Then she swings it at the green tengu!
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Note: If getting down from the barricade and moving to the enemy takes so much time it wouldn't allow her to also attack she instead fires her bow at the tengu, then drops her bow, and climbs down the barricade.
| GM Rinaldo |
It's a 5' drop, so I'm ok with that being free with a move action.
Juno leaps from her perch, happy to have an enemy to engage, though in her excitement she swings her axe wide.
Brakkik moves and drinks an extract, preparing for a devastating attack.
Sadaf calls Danduun back and waits to see what comes next.
Need an action from Gronkh.
Gronkh Maha
|
With a nod of thanks to Sadaf, and presuming that his comrades will take care of the Green rider, Gronkh directs Horace out to the middle of the field to watch for any more bandits that may be approaching.
Double move for Horace. Total defense for Gronkh.
Johnny Brom
|
Ha, I didn't even expect the Intimidate to succeed. I was mostly looking to attract it's attention.
Jale looks down at the piton in his hand, where the dagger should have been, and curses in Wayang. As he curses, his eyes grow dark and his features stretch slightly - becoming more gaunt. He mutters a phrase under his breath, staring at the back of the rider battling with Juno. Dark Half, second round.
Mind Thrust I Damage, Will Save, DC 17, for half: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11
| GM Rinaldo |
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Jale stares at the rider who made it into the village square, and the rider simply collapses. And that's a wrap for Green ...
Everyone can take a round of actions while waiting to see what happens next ...
Johnny Brom
|
Jale nods to Juno, proud of himself. "Go ahead. I'll close my eyes." He turns around to watch over the wall, unsure if he would see a de-pantsing or a beheading. Or both...
Juno Berik
|
Juno brings her axe down on the unconscious tengu, chopping his head right off.
Coup de grace.
Slashing Damage: 3d10 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (5, 7, 1) + 9 + 2 = 24
Not necessary, I know, but does the extra damage from power attack only get added once, or does it get multiplied with the rest? Having an off day and I can't seem to recall. I only added it once.
| GM Rinaldo |
PA damage does multiply on a crit.
Juno decapitates the rider, much to the distress of his horse. The beast begins bucking and running around, trying to figure out what is going on. Eventually the corpse falls from the saddle, and the horse comes to a stop without causing much damage, though there is blood everywhere.
Gronkh Maha
|
Gronkh and Horace simply move further out into the field, in hopes of being better positioned to deal with the next wave of bandits when they appear.
Johnny Brom
|
Jale turns around at the sound of the distressed horse. "Not the horse! Not the... oh... blood." Jale turns back around and pukes over the side of the wall. Shoot, I forgot to leave my Dark Half.
Concentration, DC 12: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 back to normal.
| GM Rinaldo |
I'll give another hour or two for Sadaf to respond before moving to the next round.
Sadaf Kargar
|
Sadaf readies an action to cast 'entangle' should new riders appear so that their approach is halted.
Please GM you decide how the field is placed to halt their movement similar to the placement with the spell before!
Brakkik
|
Aww, let them get a bit closer so the artillery (Brakkik) can hit them without massive range penalties please!
| GM Rinaldo |
Sorry about the delay - I got caught up with things and never made it back yesterday.
In the aftermath of the battle, a hush pervades the village; a few cheers erupt but are quickly muffled by those wise enough to know the fighting is not yet done. For the most part, the farmers prepare themselves for further combat; their fallen comrades are respectfully moved away from battleground, crossbows are reloaded, and what repairs can be made to the barricades are attempted. This prudence is soon proved correct; from the western edge of the village, a low growling sound grows in volume. Suddenly, a loud crash comes from another barricade, panicked villagers come running from that direction. “A demon! The crows have brought a demon down upon us!” one of the farmers screams, throwing his spear down as he runs.
The creature managed to approach from the side of the town you weren't watching as closely, and has managed to break a hole in the barricade.

Gronkh Maha

Hearing the commotion, Gronkh urges Horace to run across the field, while adopting a posture of total defense himself.
Johnny Brom
|
Jale hops down from the wall and peeks around a corner. A small "EEP!" escapes his lips. He looks to Juno then jerks his head. "Trouble..." He draws his dagger from his waist and waits for the beast to get closer.
Brakkik
|
"Haha!" Brakkik cheers as he hears the sound of splintering wood. "Let'sh shee how rah trapsh worked!" He clambers across the roof, down the side of the building, onto the barricade, off the barricade, and finally back onto solid ground as he watches eagerly to see the results of his handiwork.
Hoping the last of the monkey fish extract can get him down without too much fuss.
| GM Rinaldo |
The creature seems scratched up, but not terribly bothered by the smashed barricade or the traps that were laced into it.
Juno and Sadaf are still up.
Juno Berik
|
"Finally! A challenge!" Juno boasts. She stalks into the middle of the village, bloody axe in hand. "Come on then, ugly! Come and meet your DEATH!!"
Double move and yelling loudly at the owlbear.
| GM Rinaldo |
Sorry about no weekend update ... I ended up accidentally taking a "do nothing all weekend" mini-vacation ;-)
Sadaf, how did Danduun get inside the barricade?
Everyone moves around in response to the new threat. Juno's challenge is met by a roar as it charges in!

Juno lets out a roar of her own and swings her axe around in a sideways swipe at the owlbear's knee joints!

Slashing Damage: 1d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8
Johnny Brom

Jale sees the owlbear get closer and takes a deep breath in. Entering Dark Half. He reaches out his hand towards the bears and clenches his fist - whispering a dark prayer under his breath.

Seeing Juno engaged with the creature, Brakkik sighs heavily and twirls his sling.

Bludgeoning damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Gronkh Maha
|
Trusting that his comrades will handle the owlbear inside the compound, Gronkh heads back to the open field to keep watch for more bandits.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Double Move for Horace. Full Defense for Gronkh
| GM Rinaldo |
Uups. Climb checks?
Not with that roll! :-) I've relocated Danduun to the outside of the barricade. He can either try again to climb, or you can try to push him to understand he can run around to the opening created by the owlbear.
Juno swings her axe, drawing a large gash along the owlbear's legs.
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Jale sends forth a malevolent force that causes the owlbear to shake its head, trying to find the source of its pain.
Brakkik attempts to help by throwing a rock from his sling, but the same high winds that have plagued Juno's archery seem to be getting in his way as well.
Gronkh moves back out into the field, thinking this might be a diversion, and watches for approaching bandits. The high winds blows dust in his eyes, however.
Danduun and Sadaf are still up for this round!
Sadaf Kargar
|
Sadaf and Danduun delay waiting for a surprise from the other side.
”Danduun, Walt here. The dwarf has to get the heat out of her system anyway!?“
| GM Rinaldo |
Sadaf and Danduun keep watch from the wall while the others engage the owlbear.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Claw 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Claw 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Grab: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
The owlbear fiercely bites and claws at Juno, drawing blood and catching hold of her! Juno takes 10 damage and is grappled.
From the woods across the field, Gronkh thinks he hears the sounds of more hoofbeats and cawing coming your way.

Jale snaps back to reality, the darkness leaving his eyes. Seeing the owl bear still standing he sneaks along the wall and whispers something under his breath. As he takes in a breath, a small rock flies at the owlbear!
Telekinetic Projectile: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Brakkik

Brakkik hustles along the houses, trying to get close enough to Juno to help in some way.

Gronkh Maha
|
Gronkh rides over to where the Yellow horse is and examines the fallen rider and the horse to see if they have anything that could be useful, or that could provide any valuable information about the bandits.

Jale uses the power of his mind to hurl a rock at the owlbear, but it flies over the beast's shoulder. The -4 penalty for firing into melee dropped your attack to 15.
Brakkik repositions himself along the wall while Gronkh goes to one of the patiently waiting horses. It allows him to inspect the rider, but he doesn't see anything useful on a quick examination.
Juno and Sadaf are still up.
