So thing with challenging dc math is that it will eventually at higher levels require at least skill focus feat and tool kit with +4 bonus to be able to make them :p Operatives are better than other classes a lot with skills, but I do think it would help a bit at least if other classes got skill focus for their specialty skills (like mystic with mystic connection skill). Don't think it would fix skill math completely, but would help make it feel more equal.
Am I missing something obvious that makes this house rule idea obviously bad idea? Because I'm seriously considering implementing this house rule in home games :O
Well it wouldn't stack with most of the class skill bonus abilities, Bypass, Connection skill are Insight bonus. Skill Focus is also an Insight bonus so the feat would be pointless before level 10 for the 'class focus' style skills

Thats true yeah, it would only help classes without skill bonuses(or at level 10)

I think you should make it a floating skill focus. The fact that you can just end up completely uncompetitive on a certain skill because you picked the wrong class is, imo, a big mistake in Starfinder's core design. Skill focus helps a little at least.
