Interplanetary Teleport and Planar travel

Rules Questions

Can this spell be used for planar travel?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Interplanetary Teleport says "it works like teleport" and Teleport says "Interplanar travel is not possible."

However if you have access to Interplanetary Teleport and thus 9th level spells, then you have access to other means of planar travel.

The funny thing about it is, if you have planeshift you have a roundabout way to do interplanetary teleportation anyways.

Because you can planeshift to wherever, and planeshift back within 500 miles of wherever you want to be. It doesn't even say you have to be familiar with your destination or anything like teleport. It simply says, "From the Material Plane, you can reach any other plane, though you appear 5 to 500 miles (5d%) from your intended destination."

So assuming you know your intended destination, you can get there. Knowledge only of its existence seems to be the only requirement.

Poor man's interplanetary teleportation.

But anyways, no Interplanetary Teleport doesn't let you go to other planes.
