Bullet Split and Special Ammunition Interaction

Rules Discussion

So gunslinger have a feat called Bullet Split that you shoot and cut the bullet in half to hit two targets adjacent to each other.

If you use special ammunition like Spellstrike ammunition, would both targets be susceptible to the spell inside it? Like activate it with Acid Arrow and then bullet split it into two targets making it take the Strike damage plus the acid arrow damage.

Seems like it to me: the ammo is hitting 2 targets with a single attack.

I mean, technically spellstrike ammunition says "any target hit by the ammunition is affected by the spell" but then it goes on to talk about what happens to "the target hit" as if it was under the assumption that there would only be the one target.

I think RAW it works, but I think it works because they overlooked an interaction rather than being RAI.

You are basically getting an extra casting of a spell slot out of this, without paying the cost of an extra spellstrike bullet.
