Thaumaturge Class

This is assuming the Thaumaturge can retrain implements as is. I think it'd be cool to have a natural ability or feat to enable retraining or swapping implements and their progression in a shorter time span. What does everyone else think?

That would seem to suit the theme of them having the right tricks up their sleeves. "Let me tune my wand to heat as we enter the frozen tundra." seems like the sort of thing they should be able to do.

Yet, if Paizo does boost Implements (which I'll assert is necessary, whether through feats or innately) then that adaptability might become too powerful. I'd rather have three Implements all reaching Paragon level then as it is + swapping out.

I just posted this in a response survey, but it's really not clear to me from the playtest rules if their "implement" is a general class of items, or the specific item itself. For example, if I have a "Lantern" implement, and mine gets misplaced, can I just grab any old torch and attune to it to begin accessing my implement traits?
