Does Weapon Specialization apply to the splash damage of a bomb's or Scatter weapon's secondary targets?

Abilities like Singular Expertise make it pretty clear that their damage bonuses only apply to damage rolls, but Weapon Specialization doesn't seem to possess any such language. The Scatter and Splash traits also don't seem to prohibit it. I'm sure the intent was that a given target only suffers the Weapon Specialization once, so I'm not asking about the primary target, but was wondering about the secondary targets taking splash damage.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Additionnal damage is loosely defined. But I think we can pretty surely answer no to your question. Otherwise, a Giant Barbarian with Rogue Dedication and Raging Thrower would had 1d6+24 points of extra splash damage. It seems way too good to be true.

If you want to increase Bomb Splash damage, your best bet is a Fervor Witch with Elemental Betrayal casting Bloodspray Curse on the enemy.

I agree it doesn't, but for a different reason.

If it had worked with splash, then they would have written it down the alchemist notes ( and since 2 years have passed and no still no errata, the former interpretation has to be taken for good ).

The moment a player reading anything realizes it's not clear whether also X could work with that or not, it's the moment the players has to consider that it doesn't, and maybe he's going too far from the basic given explanation.
