Thaumaturge Class

Building my first Thaumaturge and the first thing I do is put the runescarred archetype on him for magic tattoos. Got me to thinking magic tattoos feel so on brand why aren't they part of the core class? Could even do it better that way by making the spells draw from the occult list and drop the thassilion flavor.

I do like the flavor potential of magic tattoos and the like for thr class, and more tattoo support is good in my book!

Yes, YES, and YES!

I don't care if it takes up a whole quarter of a page, this idea has huge value and potential. Consider this my +1.

Tattoos belong to all classes. Please don't try to make them a thaumaturge only thing. I'm pro-tattoo myself, but think they're too fun/thematic to belong to any one class. If anything, a general archetype would be better and probably outside the scope of this book (or not?!).

From a more mechanical perspective, Thaumaturges aren't casters so if they are getting 'relic' tattoos then all you've done is create a relic that doesn't require a hand or action economy to manipulate which sort of seems like a key balancing factor in Mark's design.

You can make tattoos class agnostic and still have support by making spell tattoos magic items and giving the thaumaturge a feat like the runelord's tattoo artist
