Why is the Oracle's pool of 1st level class feats so barren?

I was considering playing a Human for the first time the other day so I looked through 1st level class feats for Natural Ambition.

One thing I noticed is the Oracle class barely have any, even compared with just the other non-CRB classes. At a whopping three 1st level class feats, it has Glean Lore as a unique feat, but the other two, Reach and Widen Spell, are widely distributed among fullcasters.

The Magus only has four 1st level class feats, but at least three of them are Magus-exclusive. The only shared feat, Familiar, is still rather specialized.

Just an observation I found weird. It's probably my unfamiliarity with the class.

It's the case with most caster classes because they don't generally get a 1st level feat.

All caster classes have limited first-level options. They exist pretty much solely for humans' benefit and as additional second-level feats, since nothing else gets them at first.

If I remember correctly, many of the CRB casters were also pretty limited prior to getting new feats from new books.

I'd say the Witch is the outlier for having a several 1st-level feat choices (for a caster) all in one book (APG). It makes the Oracle look off since the CRB casters caught up by getting new 1st-level toys with the APG.

The APG playtest Oracle had an extra 1st level feat with Divine Element. It turned into the 4th level feat Divine Access.

Yeah, Oracle is a bit lacking. It has 3 feats, and none of them are all that good. Reach Spell isn't bad. But it also isn't very memorable.

The other old spellcasters do look like they didn't start off very well either. Just weird that even compared to the new spellcasters, it dropped with almost no unique 1st level feats.

Divine Access at 1st level would've been dope. Human Oracle would've the most not-me PC I'd have played so far. Non-Human Oracle is at least in my radar now and I'm intrigued.

I can only surmise not a lot of ideas for feats. But at least the paucity of feats includes some very good ones for combat unlike say the witch.

Huh?

Oh, you are meaning at feat levels higher than 1. Confused for a second there because Witch gets both of those non-unique 1st level Oracle feats, and the third one doesn't have much use for combat.

Yeah. Across all levels, not just 1.
