Crafting and Create Forgery

Rules Discussion

Create forgery is about forging documents, but what about other stuff like paintings, sculptures, archaeological finds, etc... ?

Would be fine comparing the crafting check with Society or Perception DC?

That would likely be a Crafting check, as you're actually creating an object rather than your knowledge of local laws or people to create a forgery. You can remember the Mona Lisa down ti it's finest detail, but if you can't paint it would be very obvious it's fake.

Forging the certificate of authenticity that proves that it is the original Mona Lisa would be a Society check.

Well, I'd say you could roll a skill like Society or Art Lore to get a bonus if you wanted to forge a work of art.

Reading thievery seems that society might kick in when it comes to documents and charts.

For example, as breithauptclan suggested, forging a certificate of authenticity that prove it's the original work.

But interacting with the work itself would have nothing to do with a society check.

Art lore might do the job, as well as craft.
