It seems unclear if or when the Evolution Points reset. Options might include:
at the end of combat, when the combat no longer includes a significant enemy, after a 10-minute rest, after resting for the night...
This seems to be pretty important since it might open up some out-of-combat use for those abilities. Unfortunately giving players an incentive to extend combat duration, does seem at least a bit problematic.

I also see it as a problem and am concerned that different interpretations will affect the playtest.
EP limits
We know that EP can generally only be gained during combat.
Except where noted otherwise, you can gain Evolution Points only when involved in a combat encounter that includes a significant enemy (Core Rulebook 242).
Although they give an exception, I can not find anything in the class that states it can be used to gain EP out of combat. I was expecting it in the description of Augmented Potential but there is nothing there.
Still, the exception is there which suggests to me that it should be possible to have EP outside of combat. After all, this is not the Solarian nor the Vanguard.
At the beginning you are limited to only gaining a maximum of 2 EP during each round of combat, the first is automatically gained at the start of each round and another can be gained by spending Resolve. Since Resolve is limited, you can’t gain the second point every round of combat.
If it resets at the end of combat against a significant enemy, that means the combat must last at least three rounds in order to have any chance of EP hitting their maximum for characters of less than 5th level. At 5th level you get Evolution Drain which can allow you to gain it faster assuming you can hit the foe and it hopefully fails a fortitude save. It would still be the case that you often would have the solarian problem of the combat ending before you hit your maximum.
There are powers that would be useful outside of combat
Although most of the powers are only useful in combat, things like Ocular Advantage, Enhanced Mobility and even the Eldritch power of Arcane Leap could be useful outside of combat.
Although I can not find anything definitive, it really seems to me that it would make sense for some of the abilities to be useful outside combat. If that is the case, then you need a way to maintain EP out of combat.
Other times when resources reset
Very few things are tracked past getting a full night’s rest — HPs, conditions, and equipment charges/ammo being the ones I can think of. I really think that EP should at very least reset overnight along with spells, resolve, and most other abilities.
The other time when some things reset is after a 10 minute rest. Although I could make arguments for that making sense, in every other case in the Starfinder rules we are told if something can be reset with a 10 minute rest.
I really hope we get some guidance in the intention here as I really believe it will affect the playtest experience.

I assume that is future proofing.
