What do people think of introducing the students from this book during the events of earlier books? Jumimo most of all could be around, and I'm thinking the others likely join during the events of books 1 or 2. Anyone think its narratively preferable to hold them in reserve so there's some new students to figure out in book 3?

What culture is Fardrik, one of the students introduced in this book, supposed to belong to? He's from Vidrian and has dark skin that very much looks like a native of the Mwangi Expanse, but the book has this to say about him:
"He uses humor to deflect questions of his past, but has opened up to those closest to him about the oppression he faced as a tiefling in the formerly Cheliax-held colony of Sargava. Fardrik knows Ignaci from those pre- revolution days, but the two didn’t move in the same circles and even today don’t get along."
My understanding that essentially all Garund natives in Sargava were either slaves or part of the servant underclass, so it's weird that the passage would mention oppression owing to being a tiefling without mentioning oppression owing to being a Vidric. The fact he knew Ignaci further implies he's not Vidric, unless "didn't move in the same circles" is a euphemism for the slavery situation. His dark skin could just be due to him being a tiefling - that feels pretty unlikely, but it *would* even further explain the discrimination he faced, if he was born with the skin color of the enslaved.

I think it certainly makes sense for Jumimo to be around for the earlier books, at least as a background NPC. And it could even help expand on his character arc. I would probably avoid including any more of the other new students though, just to avoid juggling too many pre-existing relationships. (There can be as many as six depending on how players handle previous adventures, even without making any changes.)

Fardrik is Vidric. While all Vidrics faced hardships under colonial rule, he also dealt with additional discrimination. Outside of that, the specifics of his background will depend on how you choose to tell his story and what your table feels comfortable exploring.

The terwa lords stuff in this volume is really bothering me. Like, they're violent expansionist ethnonationalists who you're expected to sit and have a nice chat with while they spread their propaganda?
I don't want my players to miss out on the new spells and opportunities here but I can't in good faith run this as written.
Perhaps the child of the scout leader could have been the only survivor of the fight and the party can help them to recover and join the magaambya and get them into an environment where they can get away from Terwa influence?
Would appreciate any input from other people.

I won't go too into detail about ways that you can run this, because I don't really think I can give an unbiased answer here. If you want your players to find the scrolls without interacting with the camp, they could be on the bodies of the iruxi where they fight the graveknight.
I would avoid making the child the sole survivor, as the idea of taking them away from their culture for their perceived benefit plays into its own colonial tropes and very quickly strays into some bad territory.

I made them part of a group that is being encroached upon: they have the real decision between moving somewhere else or joining the Terwa lords, understanding that they'd never be very high up but Ssraku's daughter might.

I ordered Hurricane's Howl and the Mwangi Expanse Book on Jan 2nd and I've heard nothing about the order since then - still listed as pending. I tried contacting customer service, no response there either. Is Paizo still shipping these products or what's going on?
I don’t know that a GM advice forum is going to be any help with this. Try the store page, or emailing CS again.

Hi! I'm preparing Hurricane's Howl to start this weekend and there's something that I wanted to ask.
How are you running the encounters the PC's have during their travels with the students? Do you include the students as supportive NPCs? Do you add a certain mechanic to account for their presence as a helping or distracting situation? Have you created specific stat blocks for each one of the students?

I pretty much did the best I could to have the students keep out of the way during any encounters the PCs had when traveling with them. Given their level of experience, I think it’s safe (and easier) to assume that they’re not fit for combat, and it should be made clear to the PCs that they’d be putting their students in serious danger by letting them get involved.

Same, I mentioned that there were lesser threats that the students themselves were able to handle with the PCs overviewing and guiding, but the threats that required the PCs were to much for the students, who stayed in the rear in a defensive formation. Mariama tends to step up in the book whenever the teachers freeze or make a mistake, so I've been using her as the voice of "This isn't our fight, lets pull back and leave this to the teachers"

Getting close to starting this adventure with my group and I was reading ahead to some of the dangers that they will be facing. Looking at Bharlen Sajor, I had a couple of questions about the Graveknight Armour.
The onset of the curse is one hour and the desription says it affects anyone wearing the armour for an hour. So do they make the check as soon as they put it on then onset starts right away or would they make the check after wearing it for an hour and then the onset is a new hour.
Secondly, if they succeed the check, is it a one and done, or would they have to make multiple checks? Every time they don the armour after resting? or would it be every hour?
I am hoping they do not put it on but you never know!

The DC 40 Will save would be made whenever they put the armor on. If they fail then nothing happens for an hour. After an hour passes they get hit with stage 1 (or stage 2 if they crit failed the initial roll). The next day they get another DC 40 will save to determine what happens. If they pass their current stage is reduced by one (possibly to zero). If they fail they advance 1 stage to stage 2 or if they crit fail they advance 2 stages to stage 3. This is a super deadly trap for the PCs and you should signal to them the danger (whether through recall knowledge checks, identify magic item or creepy scene description)
