Degenerate Ogre pummel

Rules Questions

So the offense block says the ogre gets 1 slam and 1 bite. But pummel reads:

If a degenerate ogre succeeds on both slam attacks against a single foe it may immediately pummel the target into oblivion, dashing him on the ground like a rag doll or savaging him with fists and a headbutt. The victim takes an additional 2d6+8 damage and must immediately make a DC 20 Fortitude save or be dazed for 1 round.

So should I add a slam to a full round action or have it if hits bite and slam?

Sovereign Court

Degenerate Ogre?
It should probably have 2 slam attacks plus the bite. It also has Multiattack which requires 3 natural attacks as well.

However, the source material looks like its from a book printed in 2008 and the Pathfinder core rulebook came out in 2009... so likely originally printed under the 3.5 ruleset and the D20 website 'updated' it for Pathfinder.

If you aren't tied to that specific version of an Ogre, then you can get something similar with an Ogre with the Thicken and Shaggra templates. It doesn't have the chance of daze(or the insanity), but has grab/constrict instead and the bite/slam/slam.

That’s the ogre alright. I think I’ll just add a slam then for simplicity rather then add templates. I was more just curious on if there was an official ruling.

Sovereign Court

It's not an official monster, so you won't get an official ruling.

It falls into the small category of "first party, but wrong edition and was not updated".

Ah paizo but not pf.

Sovereign Court

And then 'updated' to PF rules by the 3rd party of D20pfsrd.

For what it's worth, they didn't make a mistake and drop off a second slam. The original monster didn't have a second slam and still had the pummel language.
