Hello,
I'm about to start running part 3 of the Ironfang Invasion.
In the mines the caustic gap, I'm at a bit of a loss with this trap. I just don't understand where it should be running. It says it gets everything in a 60' line.
I can't figure out where the area for the trap to go is.
I can't attach an image, so let me try to describe it. I'm running from the T marker, to the north, about the 1 o'clock position, so it goes all the way up to the south side of the bridge in between I4 and I5.
Does that sound good? or does anyone have a better idea?
The description in the module is kinda vague about it. Reading makes it sound like it's supposed to cut off the entrance going down into I7, so that was the best I could do.
I'm open to suggestions on how other people set it up.
Thanks in advance

I had it run from NW to SE starting around the "T" in room I5 and going into room I7 all the way to the far the wall. If everyone lines up to leave I7, they should all be in a nice line for the trap.
I have found that in a lot of APs, I have to fudge around with the logistics of traps to have them make sense to me, and this one was no exception.

I myself could not understand the description of the area covered by the trap. Therefore, I made up an area of my choice. I run a PF2 conversion of Ironfang Invasion and have to routinely alter traps to follow PF2 rules.
I decided the caustic gap was a natural stream of liquid acid that the quarrygeists had converted into a trap by sealing it up under pressure. I picked a grid-intersection spot on the wall southwest of the T and envisioned acid spraying out from that spot in all directions up to 30 feet. Some parts of the corridor wall would block it, since the spray traveled straight. It immediately lost pressure after dealing its 8d6 acid damage and would take weeks to recharge if the quarrygeists survived to reseal it.
The trapfinding rogue/sorcerer spotted the fragile seal and set it off from a distance with Telekinetic Projectile.
