Question. If I purchase a Gloom Blade, can I then transfer the +1 and striking runes off of a different weapon to it? If I then use the Gloom Blade with another weapon using doubling rings or greater doubling rings, will the other weapon have the same effects if it is the same type of weapon (a short sword) or would only the bonus and striking runes apply?

So, I have a +1 striking rapier, I can transfer the +1 and striking runes to the gloom blade which is upgraded as a +1 striking weapon? Or do I have to pay the 900 to upgrade to +2 striking, then the additional to +2 greater striking?
Also, can I make a Gloom Blade out of a special material, since the base weapon doesn't mention it, or is it just good steel?

Specific Magic Weapons rules here.
"A specific magic weapon lists its fundamental runes, which you can upgrade, add, or transfer as normal."

So, if I read that correctly, I could strip both the striking and +1 rune off the rapier and transfer them to the gloom blade, then be able to upgrade from there.
As base, it's already considered a +1 Shortsword, so you could add Striking so that it has that value in bright light.
No upgrade will make a difference to the dim light aspect until you upgrade it past +2 Striking
