So I was inspired by the thread “What do YOU think MY character looks like?” For this thread, I wanted people to post weird ideas that they haven’t quite figured fully, and others to give advice.
These are my ideas:
1: A dog whose owner died. The dog doesn’t know this, and waits patiently for his master, always going every day to greet him outside where he worked, only for the master to never show. One day, the master shows up, but it is really a Tulpa that the dog created of his master.
2: A wizard is trying to become a lich. Just as he would succeed, his pet cat knocks over a jar containing important magic stuff, causing a magical mishap. The ritual succeeds, but the cat becomes the lich instead of the wizard.

2. The Wizard's cat is a Dweomercat Cub Familiar, the powerful magic involved in the ritual swaps the souls of Wizard and his Familiar... and the Wizard, now in the body of the Dweomercat, realizes this and devours his original, killing his old Familiar in the process.
He can always get a new Familiar.
Or can he...? Without the ability to speak or cast spells, he is eternally stuck until he can figure out a way to access his magics.
The Lich Dweomercat meanders for hundreds of years, unable to carry out all his wonderfully evil plans... watching the window of opportunity for his master plan fade away... the eclipse came and went without him performing the great awakening... his life's ambitions ruined...
Could he find redemption in his failure? The rest is up to you...

1. Mechanically, the Tulpa owner of the dog is a Duskwalker Summoner. The dog is a quadrupedal eidolon. Until the first time the dog is "killed", the "owner" believes that he will wink out of existence when that happens. But at that point, he realizes that his dog now has such a strong spirit that it cannot be permanently killed.
A major mystery is what sort of intervention gave his dog such power. One thing that is certain is that the two of them are bound together for eternity.

This very interesting. I'll definitely be using it. Thank you.

This is amazing. I love it. Will be using it soon, that's for sure. Thank you.
PS: I so want a series that uses this idea. It would be great to read/watch.
