Hi!
I am playing wizard lvl. 8 and would like to take short scouting expedition. Since I would need to go inside a guarded house, my idea is to cast first Invisibility and then Gaseous Form to enter the house and find out all the details about the creatures and their equipment. I know that there are warewolf.
When I cast Invisibility and then Gaseous Form, will I end up being translucent mist or invisible mist?
And will I still be susceptible to warewolf scent when in invisible/gaseous form?
Thanks for help in advance!

Description of both spells is quite clear in this regard - they don't cancel or oppose each others effect so I don't see any reason why you wouldn't end up as an invisible mist.

From memory someone with Scent auto-detects you (or something similar) if you're within their range, but doesn't pinpoint where you are. They can pinpoint your square as a Move(?) Action. This means that as long as you keep moving they'll be unlikely to hurt you (especially with DR:10 and a 50% miss chance), but it's not going to stop them knowing someone came in. (I could have thise details wrong but I think the final sentence rings true anyway.)
Aside from that Gasseous Form is a pretty short-range scouting spell. You're only flying at a speed of 10 feet per move so your maximum fly distance is 400 feet per caster level (before the spell expires). If you're going scouting then coming back that effectively reduces it to 200 feet per caster level. It's good for checking what's behind these next few doors, but it's not so great for finding the bandit's camp.

Gaseous Form is a junk spell. Just erase it from your spellbook. It's best use is casting it on enemies via a potion and then it only works 1 round (at best, or the round after they are mauled using it!) as it uses up their actions as they end the spell.
You're better off casting Invis then Blink and try to go through walls. Memorize Stinking Cloud while you're at it, just in case. I hope you have a wand of Shield and Obscuring Mist.
Next Question - Why do you want to get mauled by a werewolf? There could be dire consequences...
There are eye spells, remote viewing (clairvoyance/clairaudience), using your familiar's senses via spell, using a blood sentinel via spell, common sneaking about(skills) and sending in a patsy/distraction, changing into a werewolf shape (but keeping your type), asking somebody who knows the layout of the residence like a servant/butler/maid.
Advice:
Review the party strategy and tactics to resolve the situation using what is at hand. Werewolves are not known for their patience... at least in the residence he/they are not out and about killing people.
One option is to bar the doors and windows, cast Arcane Lock on them, and wait till morning. Congratulations, you captured the beast(s).
Depending upon the party moral outlook you could smoke them into asphyxiation... it's more a Ranger thing.
