Looking for a mid-level island adventure

Okay, so this might be a bit of a specialized request and I know that it might not get much traction.

I am looking for an island adventure for around 10th level characters, although if I find the right adventure of a higher level I can always adjust either my campaign or the adventure.

However, I don't want just any island adventure. I need and island adventure that feels like something that an epic ancient group might have used in the ancient past.

Background: My campaign is set in the World of Greyhawk. I'm thinking of introducing and island that appears and disappears irregularly. It was once held by the Wind Dukes of Aaqa. There is an elven NPC that has visited there once about 100 years ago and is waiting for it to reappear so that she can return. My original idea was to use the City of Golden Death adventure and just adapt it for a higher level but that could be a pretty big undertaking.

However, if I can find a higher level island adventure that has an epic feel to it, I would consider doing that instead.

Does anyone have any suggestions, Paizo or 3pp?

Check the fourth book from the Legacy of Fire adventure path, the End of Eternity. I haven't played through all of it but the beginning seems to fit your request.

The First book of Serpent Skull takes place on an island.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The Isle of Dread is a classic, but would require work to switch systems (Classic D&D all the way to Pathfinder) and boost difficulty.

book 4 of Skull & Shackles, "Island of Empty Eyes" involves the party exploring an island full of ancient cyclops ruins and dinosaurs.

You'd probably need to skip chapter 3 which is AP meta plot, but the first two chapters might be what you are looking for.

Depending on what level you're talking about, you could definitely check out Tarin's Crown for 6th-level characters or Scourge of the Steaming Isle for 9th-level characters from Legendary Games!

If you have some old issues of Dungeon magazine issue 143 might be what you are after.

@ OP: You're looking for That Island Charm in issue #33 of the old Dungeon Magazine. I once owned a copy of that issue but it's since disintegrated with age.
