(PFS 1st Edition)-Need info about replays

Pathfinder Society

Hi all,

One of my characters is currently in an adventure I've already done.

A team mate told me we received a "bunch of replays", probably with the second edition coming, but he can't find out where he got the information, or how many replays we received.

Could you tell me how many replays we had, and where to track them?

Thankies!

How many PFS1 tables did you GM?

that's an easy question to answer: none.

You got a replay automatically when you gain a GM star, and also they gave out a bunch of replays a long time ago, with GMs getting more. For example, I got 15, while my 5-Star GM friend got somewhere around 30.

The problem now, they removed that feature from the website, so we can't see our replays anymore. It's best to assume you have none, and recuse yourself from the game.

The only way you can replay is with a replay or if it is required to make a table valid (there is a minimum of 3 players to a table).

My initial answer was going to be "You only earned PFS1 replays for games GMed", but I tried searching to see if that was correct before I posted.

This Blog actually explains that you earned PFS1 replays for games both "played and GM'd".

I can't, however, find out how many that ended up being. I know that personally I had 308 tables GMed, and 242 sessions played, and that earned me the maximum allowance of 30 replays.

Maybe someone else knows how the calculation was broken down. How many sessions have you played?

Cordell, how many sessions had you GMed by the time you earned your 15 replays?

I believe I only had 1 star, so likely in the 20s. I had way more sessions played, but I only played once a week or so, so probably in the ballpark of 180ish sessions played?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I believe the formula was 5 replays per 50 tables participated in (no rounding up), max 25, plus 1 per GM Star for a maximum total of 30 if you had everything. I ended up with 29, since 4 stars.

My guess as to what is going on is that plans to implement the replays in the boon download system have either been canceled or put on hold while the rest of that system is worked out (prioritizing 2E stuff). It’s possible they are taking away the replays they gave us, but until that’s announced, we have that blog to reference to say we have them.

Awesome. Thank you!

DM Lil" Eschie, how many sessions have you played?

Scarab Sages 4/5

It was calculated at the time of the blog (or sometime close to that), so it would be based on how many sessions you had played at that point.

There is a another thread asking the same question. So I am flagging this one to be merged with the earlier thread.

I only play online, on this forum, unfortunatly

Thankies for the answers!

Is the Replays number going to be put back in at some point, and is there a way to put in the PF1 boons that gave replays into the system to add to it?

Here is the skinny on this, I have been getting replays from the Expanded Narrative boon since it came out and one could renew a new use of it (a new boon) for seasons afterward. There is also a special boon given that I had used for a replay.

Thus far, I have used 3 replays from the 30 I have gotten from the edition turnover, and all the replays earned from boons.

Just hoping some sort of acknowledgement of these replays can be done, through a boon or something, instead of just forgotten about.

I also wonder if Replay for Starfinder and PF2 is going to be looked at as something to offer as a boon to help with those players who run out of scenarios to play.

This is somewhat compounded by having all the non-PFS adventures being regulated to Campaign mode, making the in store/organized offerings limited in scope and the inability to just bring one's characters to the table for those games. The shortchange in level gain for the character credit is a stark change from the PF1 format, and seems to favor having those adventures as extended home games with PFS credit rather than something used to extend the organized play offerings. This would bring the need to have a replay for the more active players for PF2 be something offered in the boon system at some point.

I know that the repeatable scenarios might mitigate this, and certainly has been a good mix in the offerings in these first two seasons. The bounties look like a good way to teach new players and are shorter/more concise than the quests before it, and are thus far repeatable.

just my two coppers...

I haven't even used my 30 replays, precisely because of the wonkiness of the system.
