The only time a warpriest is considered a fighter is for purposes on choosing their bonus feats. This is explicitly stated in the section under bonus feats. If warpriests were considered fighters this language would not be needed, and they would be able to take fighter only feats with their normal feats. This makes it pretty clear that warpriests are not fighters. By that same reasoning hunters and slayers are not rangers, and arcanists are not wizards.

Hunters can take druid or ranger favoured class bonus if it applies to their companion because they have an ability that allows it but that’s all I can think of
Nature Training (Ex): A hunter counts her total hunter level as both druid levels and ranger levels for the purpose of qualifying for feats, traits, and options that modify or improve an animal companion.
