Fight Club and Duel Rules

Advice

Greetings. As the title suggests Im aiming to make a fight club like session and i wondered if i should do it at all and in such a case, if i should use the duel rules.
The general idea was a gladiatorial deadly match between adventureers but im not sure on how to implement it, Do you guys have any suggestions? Can it be fun?

It really depends on what the goal of the encounter is.

If the goal is for people to showcase their 1-on-1 PvP fighting skills, a gladiator-style match seems appropriate.

If the goal is Fight Club like the movie, the goal was emotional catharsis, not fighting. The characters can do non-lethal damage to each other and you can track it if you want, but the real feel of it would be a sandbox-style adventure where characters feel free to do what they want.

I've run some kind of "fight" in a few instances where people wanted conflict but not necessarily combat. In a PFS scenario, the PCs over-aggressively confronted an NPC, but the NPC didn't have a stat block so I couldn't run combat. Instead, I ran an "arm wrestling match" where people made Athletics checks vs the opponent's Athletics DC (most of the rounds resulted in ties, like a real arm-wrestling match). The villain backed down when he lost the match, which met the goal of ending conflict without combat.

The first rule about Fight Club and Duels is you don't post about Fight Club and Duels.
