Solar bloodline?

Advice

I've never played a sorcerer and I ran across the solar bloodline recently. I can't find it on any of the guides, was wondering how the hive mind here would rate it?

An OK arcana for blasting, though fire damage is famously frequently resisted. Defensive and healing bloodline powers; cleansing flame should be handy due to its ability to heal a wide range of conditions, without taking 3 rounds to cast.

Then there's the bonus spells. Searing light as a 1st level spell is about where that spell should be and may be useful there. Fury of the sun is a waste of space, daylight is very situational, shield of dawn doesn't seem to exist - if it should be shield of the dawnflower that's basically fire shield which is OK. Flame strike is not good for a sorcerer especially as a 5th level spell. The later spells are generally OK. Not good overall but not abominable.

It's playable certainly. There's better for any particular aspect, but the overall combination looks good.

Searing Light is the star of this bloodline (no pun intended), as it is untyped damage with a high range and no saving throw, covering your early levels with ease. However, it lacks any energy descriptor (like Fire) and doesn't benefit from damage bloodline arcanas (even your own, except Orc bloodline). As it is a single-target damage spell, it drops in usefulness later, unless you boost it with metamagic (Intensified for damage, Autoritative for fun, Familiar for supporting fire) or use it to clean up remaining undead.

Otherwise the bloodline is of a medium power. Consider taking the crossblooded archetype (for fire blaster) or replace bloodline powers (especially the lame 1st) with mutations or a bloodline familiar; if you want to play a blaster, mutations are generally very useful.

Shield of the Dawn

Interesting. That same spell is shield of the dawnflower on AoN. You'd think the bloodline listed on AoN would use that name.

It doesn't because it copy-pasted the book, which say "shield of dawn". And references ISG (Inner Sea Gods) for that. Which doesn't even contain Shield of the Dawnflower (that's from Inner Sea World Guide), the spell intended, but the Greater version thereof.
