Anyway to quickly and easily change armour colour outside GM fiat?

Advice

Scarab Sages

To be clear I'm not talking about invisibilty or chameleon style armour change just shifting for example from a D-suit that's primiarly greens and browns in a jungle to grays as you emerge out of it onto a mountain then white as you hit the snowline? Some chameleon nature but only in a general camouflage sense not a "You can't see me at all" sense.

I believe there is a glamered armor upgrade that does this.

It seems like overkill, but a holoskin would do this.

Scarab Sages

I suppose that would work seems a bit of overkill just to alter the colouring as opposed to making a set of heavy armour look like an eavening dress. Holoskin might be better as I'd prefer to save the sole armour slot for either the filtered rebreather or environmental protection upgrade for the only augment slot. Have the D-suit 1 in high vis colours and keep a stock of holoskins to issue crew (Oh this isn't for PC's its for an NPC crew of an organization that has both military and scientific research elements) on missions where they need to lie low/blend in as opposed to ones where if something goes wrong you want your fellow team members to be able to spot your unconcious body in the jungle undergrowth before something tries to eat you. They get issued 7 flightsuits and 1 D-suit to wear, replacements provided when a previous one is handed in when it no longer meets acceptable standards or evidence of its being too damaged to do so is presented.

Thanks.

I would assume that, if you have the appropriate tools needed to modify a set of armor, you could certainly change its coloration. And even aside, "I want to paint something a different color" seems like the kind of thing that should be doable with a trivial cost miscellaneous item ( "armor paint set" or such ).

Scarab Sages

That'd work for armour, armour notbso sure about fabric and the like in flightsuits and d-suits then again this is the future

And well, it may be GM fiat - but since there is no game mechanics benefit, why wouldn't the GM allow it?

Reconfigurable outfit over the armor. Click your heels and twirl and your clothes are completely different

Are you going for a mechanical impact?

If no, then no reasonable GM should say no to allowing you to change your armor from black to green when you go from nighttime in the jungle to daytime in the jungle.

For an armor upgrade slot, you can totally have the glammer projector for a scant 1350 credits which is like a more advanced version of what you're talking about, since it can make your armor look like any other armor or clothes.

Camoflauge membrane might be worth looking at.

Scarab Sages

That is exactly what I was looking for thank you.

Hat of Disguise can be worn as a magic item or as an armor upgrade; although that is also probably overkill
