Iron gods need two players.

Recruitment

Sounds good, I'll work on a submission this weekend. I've been curious about Iron Gods but have never played it, though I certainly played the heck out of Expedition to the Barrier Peaks back in the day :)

Do note I'm GMT +12.

Yes, I noticed in the game thread you're in New Zealand. I'm sad to say what little I know about New Zealand I've learned from Flight of the Conchords and LOTR bluray special features, which are likely not the most accurate of sources.

Liberty's Edge

I’ve got two ideas that I’m bouncing around, would you be okay with me writing up both cause I really like my gunslinger swashbuckled but am worried that it will be too out there.

@Joker 27. Sorry, pick the one you like the most.

HP Traxus: 10d8 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 7, 6, 7, 3, 6, 2, 7) = 49

I apologize for my flip-floppyness, but the vision of Kraig in my mind's eyeballs doesn't like him to have a shield. I'd like to withdraw KRAIG and apply with this fellow (name still pending but the stats are mostly done) instead. He's still a brawler, cuz' I feel like playing a brawler. He'll be a better tank than Kraig would have been and be better able to deal with different threats thanks to martial flexibility, though he does less damage.

I bought Smart Armor and since this guy retains martial flexibility I was thinking of flavoring it as different combat programs loaded into the armor to fight different things.

This fellow is a bounty hunter, and he has Know Local, Survival, Intimidate, and perception for that. Also took Craft Mechanical and Know Engineering, Technologist and Craft arms and armor cuz' yall said you were missing that. He won't be as good at them as your missing alchemist was but I think he'll hit most of the rolls.

@ GM_DBH: Before I write the backstory, since this guy is a bounty hunter I was wondering if there was a spoiler-free, story-relevant named bad guy in the area that could have been the target that lead him to the Scar? If not it's fine. He'll just be in the area looking for upgrades. Doesn't really matter.

Liberty's Edge

sorry for a late question but I realized that it hadn't been asked, is unchained okay?

@Joker 27. Unchained is fine.

I was originally going to submit by musket master gunslinger that I had mad for this AP years ago and died the games died in the first book, but seeing some of the players want a melee type, I'm going with a Perfect Scholar Monk (unchained).

HP: 10d10 ⇒ (6, 7, 10, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10, 2) = 75

I haven't been able to create a concept that clicks with me for this game, and so am bowing out of the submission process. Best of luck to players both current and future!

@GM_DBH: I'm playing around with ideas for an fighter 1/investigator 10 to fill the front line position. I'm just checking in that you have no objections to that. I'm not planning to do rogue-esque things so I wouldn't step on Olimpia's toes.

@Rikash. If you think you can tank then go for it.

Liberty's Edge

Last question, what's the availability of firearms and or tech firearms?

Perfect, thanks. I'm playing around with some ideas. Hoping to have a post soon.

Liberty's Edge

also last hp roll

HP: 8d10 + 2d8 ⇒ (4, 9, 7, 8, 9, 9, 7, 3) + (6, 7) = 69

Here is Leopold Joker27's submission, He's currently missing equipment which I'll update after I hear back on gun availability and a backstory which I will add tomorrow.

Would a Skinwalker Warpriest of Onos be a valid submission?

Also, just to clarify this is a tank build, without the equipment it doesn't look that tanky but after equipment, it should have around a 39 AC moving to 46 when fighting defensively.

Wasp's profile and backstory and stuff are all updated.

I think he'll be effective, but I took quite a few things that I just thought were cool so he's not super optimized. If the party has been struggling in combat he's probably not a great fit.

And I've decided to keep the name as Wasp. Couldn't come up with anything better.

This is Rikash chiming in from the character being worked on. The bulk of the character is done, but there's a little fine tuning on skills and equipment depending on party needs. It's worth noting now that the low AC is unbuffed. After applying his misc layered buffs, he's quite a lot tankier (into the mid 30s without much trouble) and more damaging (also important to a tank to keep attention on him).

I'm still needing to type up the background, but the synopsis is something like this:

Background Synopsis:
The honorable Professor Hubert "Ox" Kowalski grew up on the streets of Caliphas. A clumsy, lumbering giant towering among others even as a child, he was best known for his shyness and size. Called a dumb ox, he did his best simply to survive his family's destitution.

He found his way out of poverty as a simple caravan guard, but it was here that his latent brilliance was recognized. He was caught reading over the shoulder of a wealthy patron of the sciences in Lepidstadt. Further inquisitions revealed the brilliant mind hidden behind looks that could generously be called piggish. Feeling sympathy for the guardsmen who yearned for more, the patron offered to pay for his education.

Despite feeling grossly out of place with little schooling other then what he self taught and what he could pick up in scraps on the streets, Mr. Kowalski (he refused to answer to Hubert) thrived. Excelling in every subject he studied, he would prove himself to be a nearly peerless scholar. Educated broadly, but with a focus on the Alchemical sciences, he would eventually become a professor. His former occupation, natural strength and skill-at-arms, and burning curiosity has led him to travel broadly across Avistan on expeditions of scientific inquiry. Having overcome his shyness in the trial-by-fire of his schooling, he can be a commanding figure when he chooses to speak.

He led a quiet expedition to Numeria to study the curiosities there without attracting unwanted attention. Unfortunately, he stumbled into more then he or his team could chew off. Captured, he awaits freedom before he finds himself vivisected by his robotic captors.

A few more Qs:
1.) If I was looking to acquire more extract formulas, how should I pay for those? At 1.5 * scribing cost on the assumption I was able to find someone's spell or formula book to scribe from?
2.) Does the party feel like it needs face skills?
3.) Just to double check, background skills are not in use? I thought I saw one of the current players using them when I was doing some reading.
4.) Am I going to be badly crippled by not taking Technologist right now? My story has him just having arrived in Numeria with only theoretical knowledge of what he could find so it didn't seem appropriate. I could alter it if you think it'll be a problem.

Here is my monk, Bachu for your consideration. He is a frontline fighter with knowledges.

Sorry for not answering recently. Things got very busy Monday & Tuesday.

With a lot of great applicants it's sad but only two can be picked.

So Erigga Ironheart & Elrys Velrassendin please check in the discussion thread. Your introduction will be soon.

Thanks to all who applied. It's always hard to narrow the choices down to just one or two.

I’m just glad one of us cyborgs got in. Knock em dead, Erigga.

Thank you for your consideration, and have a great game all!
