I've been trying to put together an emergency survival kit (mapping starfinder items to real world ones) and I stumbled across the extradimensional storage in the vehicles section.
Extradimensional Storage
The vehicle contains a rear hatch (interior or exterior) that opens seemingly onto a solid wall, unless a button is pressed first (a move action) to open the hatch into an extradimensional space similar to that of a nullspace chamber. Each vehicle with this system accesses its own extradimensional space, which holds up to 100 bulk in a 9-foot cube. The extradimensional storage space can’t be closed if more than the listed bulk is inside.
It got me wondering (obviously GM approval required and usual rules on no atmosphere) could you use this as a storage space on a starship?
Again I know this would almost certainly be GM call territory but I'm just asking is there a rule somewhere else that would specifically prevent you having this on a starship for a 100 ton cargo bay? Something under extradimensionsal spaces or the like? Given rules are scattered all over. I just want to be sure if I do speak to a DM about it there isn't a "No this isn't allowed" rule floating around somewhere.

No particular rule that prevents extradimensional spaces from functioning on starships. You can still access your null-space chamber while in the drift.
If your GM wants to create an extradimensional cargo expansion bay, sure. Probably going to take a lot of BP (and even more PCU).
(Haven't seen Starship Operations Manual yet. It's possible there is something like this in there.)

Yeah, there is no element of setting lore or logic to suggest that this would be impossible. There just isn't any rules writeup for "Extradimensional Cargo Bay" yet. So, ask your GM if you can make a custom expansion bay. Presumably you'd be spending a BP and PCU premium in order to fit more cargo into a single bay, saving other bays for other purposes.
Alternatively, the GM might say "Yes, and its already a standard feature in the setting. That is why you can play fast and loose with cargo bay positioning and capacity when designing ship layouts".
