Any chatter on Reincarnation?

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

I believe it is coming in the APG, but I've got player characters with remacera bites in my converted game. I'm pretty sure I could make a close approximation-- just take the penalties associated with Ressurection, and make an ancestry percentage table. But I'm curious if any of the streams have dropped details on it. I haven't been able to keep up with them lately.

(I suppose in the case of this instantaneous remacera reincarnation I'd need to decide if it counts as a success or a critical success or something in between, but that's probably not something having the ritual will help with.)

2 people marked this as a favorite.

From the Discord but not text from APG, only general idea how it works.

Spoiler:

Ritual 3: Lots of words. 4 hour cast time, Dead up to a week, small part of body required. Roll a d20. 1-14 Common Ancestry, 15-20 Uncommon or Rare. Swap out all the ancestry stuff, including feats

I haven't seen any details on it. It would be neat if you get to choose the ancestry you turn into on a crit success.

Wound up needing to do it last night. I had the it give the clumsy/drained/enfeebled penalties. Then I went down the ancestry list on Archive of Nethys and assigned two d20 numbers to each common ancestry (counting half-orc and half-elf as options) and one number to each uncommon option. So we dwarf was 1-2, elf was 3-4, and shoonies were 20.

Dwarf Redeemer of Grundinnar is now a gnome. If I get my PDF subscriber copy of the APG before my next game, I might let the player try a roll on the official table to add some more options.
