Quivering Palm: Am I reading this right?

Rules Discussion

So if you fail a save on quivering palm, the monk can keep spending an action to hurt the target as long as they don't die for 24 hours? So if you hit, the target fails, then you can spend the action again causing another save? And if you fail the save again, the target takes another 80 points and is stunned 3 and as long it doesn't die you can keep doing this?

Level 16 effects are killer, yo.

Sure. But if they're still alive 24 hours later, they've probably already healed the 80 Damage.

Yeah. But one action for 80 points and stunned 3 on a missed save for a few rounds while doing a Flurry with no minus is nice.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Right but if they pass the save even once it's over so it's good but one lucky roll even on a bad save at that level still means the effect has come to an end.

And the chance that they are going to fail every save gets much, much lower the more saves that they attempt.

A 95% failed save rate drops to ~75% to fail 6 saves in a row and ~60% to fail 10 saves in a row.

A 70% failed save rate drops to ~10% to fail 6 saves in a row.

So really awesome - while it lasts.
