Hi all.
Help with understanding of next rules inconsistency.
Wizard go for a walk and have trouble with big brute orc.
Wizard cast suffocation spell and orc fail saving throw in 1-st and 2-nd rounds. Seems to be good - after 2-nd fail in case of this spell orc must falls unconscious and is reduced to 0 hit points. One round later, the target drops to -1 hit points and is dying.
But greenskin say - "I'm ferocity, birdy" and remain conscious and continue fighting even if their hit point totals fall below 0. Then he make wizard screaming girl (even if wizard is a brave men))))
So orc can ignore menace of such spell because have ability to ignore?
Such trouble is when orc cannot breathe underwater - after ...rounds creature must once more - falls unconscious and is reduced to 0 hit points. One round later, the target drops to -1 hit points and is dying. One round after that, the target dies from losting air in his lungs). But orc ignore unconcious and only may stay staggered?

Orc Ferocity keeps the creature from falling unconscious as the result of dropping below 0 HP. That isn't what's happening in this case. The suffocation spell causes the victim to fall unconscious. It also causes the victim to drop to 0 hp independent of making the creature unconscious.
This is further supported by the fact that a character does not normally fall unconscious as a result of being at 0 hp.
When your current hit point total drops to exactly 0, you are disabled.
You gain the staggered condition and can only take a single move or standard action each turn (but not both, nor can you take full-round actions). You can take move actions without further injuring yourself, but if you perform any standard action (or any other strenuous action) you take 1 point of damage after completing the act. Unless your activity increased your hit points, you are now at –1 hit points and dying.
Healing that raises your hit points above 0 makes you fully functional again, just as if you’d never been reduced to 0 or fewer hit points.
You can also become disabled when recovering from dying. In this case, it’s a step toward recovery, and you can have fewer than 0 hit points (see Stable Characters and Recovery).
and then
If your hit point total is negative, but not equal to or greater than your Constitution score, you’re dying.
A dying character immediately falls unconscious and can take no actions.
A dying character loses 1 hit point every round. This continues until the character dies or becomes stable.

So if i understand right Orc ferosity don't protect from suffocation spell and case when creature cannot more breath underwater???
If creature with orc ferosity fail saving throw in 1-st and 2-nd rounds of this spell he must falls unconscious and is reduced to 0 hit points. One round later, the target drops to -1 hit points and is dying...
