Sun Blade and Vampires

Does the Sun Blade Focus Spell trigger the Vampire's Sunlight Weakness? Seems rather overpowered to me if it does... Or does it not count as direct sunlight?

I would say yes. The spell specifies that it is sunlight, and as it is a targeted ray, it's pretty direct.

Given that battling undead is the entire shtick of the Knights of Lastwall, them being OP vs undead makes sense.

Okay let me read into it a bit more...

When the champion uses a Sun Blade activity, it means the sunlight begins and ends on its own turn, thus the vampire is not in sunlight at the end of its turn, and as such can never progress past Slowed 1, is that correct? If yes then it's actually a reasonable power level.

I would consider the spell's description to be mostly flavor text. It's "sunlight", and mechanically that's represented by the additional damage to undead. I doubt it's intended to trigger actual sunlight weaknesses.

Unless the campaign is all about fighting undead who are weak to Sunlight, that Focus spell is not that great, so I would consider it as sunlight.

A Champion would only be able to cast it that many times per fight anyway, and their Divine proficiency is lacking at higher level.

Right. I don't think adding Slowed 1 is that huge of a power boost.
