Non-Newtonian water elemental

Liberty's Edge

Hi! I was curious of how one might spec out a water elemental that has been filled with cornstarch to transform it into a Non-Newtonian fluid. If it moved slowly and relaxed it could envelope and suffocate, but if it moved quickly it would hit like concrete :D

Just for fun, but the idea intrigued me!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It would also get more DR if you hit it harder...

Mud elementals have the entrap ability and seem like the answer, or at least a place to start from.

Reduce its movement speed by half. Reduce its number of attacks to a single grab attack that does pitiful slam damage. Then give it a special attack that lets it swallow whole if it starts a turn grabbing something.

The creature takes half damage from all physical attacks, except from swallowed creatures. Swallowed creatures deal full damage but are constrained by the underwater fighting rules.

I didn't understand this without video assistance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1Op_1yG6lQ
