Core only whip enchantments damage

Rules Questions

I'm playing a character who uses a whip in a core only campaign, so no deadly enchantment or whip mastery feats. I want to know if I enchant a whip that deals elemental damage, flaming Frost shock etc, or aligned damage, holy unholy axiomatic anarchic, and I hit an enemy that can't be damaged by the whip's attack (immune non-lethal damage or having a too much Armour) will the whip still deal its elemental or aligned damage the target?

after reading the wording on whip, it looks like no. as any enchants to the weapon add to the weapons damage even if they are elemental they are still "whip" damage.

however i can see the argument for it and would allow it as a dm because it would make sense that the flaming whip would still deal fire damage even if the physical damage was stopped. but again the actual wording on whip stops it by raw so you would need to convince your dm to allow it.

Most enchantments do a typed of damage. Damage from them would retain the type the enchant says. If there is an untyped bonus to damage, it would take on the same type as the weapon.

So Flaming would give you a d6 of fire damage. A Vicious enchantment would provide an extra 2d6 of damage to the opponent. Since it isn't typed, it should be added to the whip's non-lethal damage. The same goes for Sneak Attack damage.
