Got a monk in a campaign asking if there's any way to use the potency crystal on their unarmed attacked. Level 1, before they can afford +1 handwraps?

Have them install it on some nonmagical handwraps.

What are the rules for non magical handwraps?

I guess they are the same used for non magical socks.

Handwraps are absolutely 100% free level 1 items, they're literally gloves, some cloth you wrap around your hands and wrists, that kind of thing and basically, clothing.... or socks as Megistone said. However you want to flavor it is fine.
