Jabbing Master Monk Build Rule Query

Rules Questions

Apologies but I have not been able to find clarification for this anywhere - is the wording for the feat "Jabbing Master" correct?

It seems to be a bit crazy that a monks damage would scale like that from such a reasonably low level feat.

The bonus from the jabbing goes like

+0
+2d6
+4d6
+4d6...

Did this ever get FAQ'd or errata'd anywhere?

Cheers

yes it is like that
link from dev confirming this (pulled out of an old thread).

as for so called low level feat. the requirement are bab +12 or 8 levels of monk which is not that low. also it is a chain of 6 feats. as a peak benefit for a 6 feat chain i say it's just about right.

a level 20 wizard can't hope to get this for lack of bab. a 3/4 bab class would only be able to get this at level 16 the earliest (bout same level as for a final 10th level of prestige class if started at 6th level) - not low at all.

It works like intended.

Keep in mind that you're forced into focusing on a single opponent, that you've spent probably five additional feats for this benefit, and that most of the damage is allocated to your low-BAB attacks.

You're disregarding the cost. On a Monk, where you can grab Dodge and Mobility as bonus feats, it still costs 4 feats. Jabbing Dance may have some use, but you aren't using Jabbing Style, and in practice, using Power Attack actually makes such a Monk worse against at least tougher enemies. Basically, you're piling the benefits of four feats together.

Jabbing Style chain is nice, but far from overwhelming if you actually do the math. As an example, the benefit per attack and feat at 12th level is +1.85 damage. A Fighter can get +2 damage at 4th level...

Thanks for all of your responses - yeah I guess with the feat tax involved it does water it down a little so you only get it later in the play :)
