[PF2] Is Wayfinder boon slotless, item, or both?

Pathfinder Society

Wayfinder boon is noted as Item in the table of all faction boons, but it has the slotless tag in its full text.

Which is it? :)

Both.

Slotless means that it has no slot (faction, promotional, or generic). So it's just something added to your character. In this case, an item. And slotless boons are unlimited, because they don't use up your limited slots, because they're slotless... etc.

I suspect that, in the future, you might encounter Chronicles or Boons that interact with different hashtags in interesting ways, and that's why the Wayfinder is both "Slotless" and an "Item".

Like maybe "Reduce the Fame cost of an Item Boon by 1", or something.

There are special wayfinders on chronicle sheets as well. I bought one of them on my -2001 character.

Yes, but those are just regularly purchased magical items on a chronicle and do not specifically interact with the boon system.

I get what slotless and item mean, but neither place listing it has both of these tags, so it's a bit suspect.

But, if I'm asked, I have reasons to say it's slotless, so we go with that :D

A standard wayfinder is slotless. A special wayfinder, like adamanite or the one gained from a chronicle have the item trait but not the slotless trait.
